Curriculum Committees

Visit Scottsdale Unified School District's Curriculum Committe page to learn about existing, standing committees, the membership of in-progress committees and which committees are accepting applications

WHAT IS A CURRICULUM COMMITTEE:

  • Before curriculum can be purchased by the district, open meetings must be held with members from the district, parents and community to review and make recommendations to the governing board.

  • Joining a committee gives you the opportunity to 1) learn about the Federal and Arizona curriculum standards, 2) review proposed curriculum that may be adopted by the district, and 3) voice your opinion about what should ultimately be recommended to the board.

DIDN'T GET SELECTED FOR A COMMITTEE YOU HOPED TO JOIN?

  • Don't worry. Apply for the next open committee. It may take a few applications before you are selected.

  • All committee meetings are open to the public. Even if you were not selected, you may attend, listen and learn. You may review the materials and provide feedback, although non-committee members do not have voting rights for the ultimate recommendations to the governing board. All meeting information is posted on the SUSD website about 48-24 hours prior to each meeting.
